Unlike traditional horror movies I am going to slightly challenge the conventions of the characters wearing a lot of make-up and extravagant costumes (which were popular in older horror movies). By keeping the character looking natural and 'normal' rather than a movie star or professional actor, this will allow the audience to trust and relate to the actor. It will also make the story-line more believable as the main character will look 'normal' and could be anyone you know. I am thinking of using some make-up at certain points in the trailer to make the characters look worried or ill- or more ghostly.
Hair will also be kept simple for the main character however I am thinking of having the other characters hairstyles more eye-catching and possibly having them wear old-fashioned clothes compared to the main character to make them more frightening. However this is still an idea in working progress, I will need to get more feedback before I can make a certain decision.
